Länsilinjat trains new bus drivers through recruitment training
Published: 1.7.2026
Länsilinjat Oy is recruiting and training ten new bus drivers in Vaasa in cooperation with CAP Pro Academy. Recruitment training (RekryKoulutus) offers an opportunity to train for a new profession and gain the skills and qualifications needed for the job. The aim is for participants who successfully complete the training to move into permanent employment with Länsilinjat.
Many people assume that becoming a bus driver requires previous training or experience in the transport sector. However, recruitment training provides a pathway into the profession even for those with no prior industry experience. The training is intended for applicants who are at least 23 years old, hold a category B driving license and have Finnish language skills at a minimum level of B1.1.
During the programme, participants will complete a category D driving licence, professional qualifications for passenger transport and other training required for the role. The programme also includes a period of on-the-job learning with Länsilinjat. During the training, participants may receive unemployment benefits and an expense allowance if they are eligible.
Applications are open until 1 September 2026, and the training programme begins on 5 October 2026. The goal is for participants who successfully complete the training to be employed in full-time, permanent positions with Länsilinjat Oy.

What is recruitment training?
