Residents’ satisfaction with municipal infrastructure services to be surveyed
Published: 21.5.2026
At the end of May, 2,000 Vaasa residents will receive a survey by post covering topics such as the upkeep of streets and parks and the quality of waste management services. The survey is part of a nationwide study being carried out at the same time in several municipalities across Finland.
The survey is conducted every year, and respondents are selected at random to ensure that different resident groups are represented. Although the survey is sent by post in paper form, recipients can also respond online.
A comparative report based on the survey results will be completed in August. The responses give residents a voice when assessing how well services are being delivered. The annual survey helps build a clear picture of residents’ satisfaction, how it changes over time, and how the city compares with others.
– We will also use the survey results to develop our public utility services and operations. That is why we warmly invite everyone who receives the survey to take part, says Jukka Talvi, Director of Public Utility Services.
