Runeberg Day will be celebrated at the Ostrobothnian Museum on Sunday 4th of February 2024. The museum will host guided tours in both Finnish and Swedish.

The Ostrobothnian Museum, part of the Vaasa City Museums, is celebrating Runeberg Day with themed guided tours on Sunday 4th of February. The museum will also offer coffee and Runeberg cakes for €4. The museum is open from 11 to 17.

The national poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg (1804–1877) attended a trivial school in Vaasa. The exhibition Vaasa 400 takes visitors on a guided tour of the trivial school and the life of Runeberg at 12:00 and 14:00 in Finnish and 13:00 and 15:00 in Swedish. The guided tours are about 15 minutes long and included in the museum entrance fee.

Regular entrance fees apply to the museums. One entrance fee also allows you to visit the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art and the Tikanoja Art Museum during the same day. You can also use a museum card to visit the museum and take part in guided tours. Children under 18 years of age can visit the museum free of charge.
