The city invites residents to visit the Administrative Building

Published: 23.10.2023

We invite residents to visit the Administrative Building premises on Saturday 28 October between 10:00 and 14:00. At the Open House, you can, among other things, explore the building’s facilities and the City Archives!

Have you already had a look at what the inside of the Administration Building looks like? Now is the perfect opportunity to do so, as the Open House will be held again after a break. During the day, you can explore the building at your own pace.

It’s well worth visiting and discovering this fine historic building and our archives. We will also be having some small activities, such as the opportunity to do a good deed by writing a postcard, says Marjo Mäki-Krekola, Administrative Manager of the City of Vaasa.

Take a peek at the gems in the archives!

The Open Doors at the Administration Building will also coincide with the Archives Day, organised in cooperation with archives all around the Nordic Countries. In Finland, Archives Day has been celebrated since 2002.

At the City Archives, located in the basement of the Administrative Building, visitors can explore the archives and talk to experts about the archival material produced by the city’s activities.

The day aims to raise awareness of archives and their activities and to highlight their role as custodians of information, as the memory of society, and as cultural institutions.

Upon visiting us on the Open House Day, please use the main entrance facing Vaasanpuistikko.
