Project

TecnoFuture

Aim of the project is to develop technology that enables the institution’s cooperation with technologically advanced
employers. Teaching is partly transferred to the working place so that it is on the institution’s responsibility and lead by
its teachers. Moreover, the project will cooperate with employers to build such functional learning environments that
enable the simultaneous studying of modules from a variety of vocational study programmes.
The project’s target group consists mainly of representatives of working life, teacher and guiding staff of institutions.
Staff will develop their knowhow and experience in learning environments and methods. They will participate in the
development and implementation of learning environments and working methods. In order for the administrative staff
and management of the institution to support and enable development, they will also participate in the development
work.
Within the project, the students have an opportunity to study within motivating, flexible, modern and working life
oriented learning environments where their individual needs and potential can be taken into account. Thus, they get a
more concrete connection to working life through the collaboration of teachers, trainers and representatives of working
life, already during their studies.
The project is implemented through mapping out which kinds of programmable robots or other new solutions and
devices could fit the varying needs of the institution’s different fields of study. Specifying these programmes and
equipment is done through collaboration with working life in order to ensure that the labour market’s needs are visible
within the learning environments. The above-mentioned mapping will lay grounds for building learning environments
and acquiring adequate technology and for training the staff to use these learning environments.
The project also includes the building of models that enable and support the transfer of teaching, lead by teachers, into
working life. Models will ensure that the transfer does not disturb production or functions at the working place nor the
institution’s other teaching arrangements at school.
Within the project, learning environments are developed together with working life so that it is possible to perform a
wide variety of tasks of a given vocational degree together with other students and customers. All learning
environments are developed according to the Lean working philosophy.
