Boat trips in Kvarken
Would you like to experience the Kvarken World Heritage Site and the Vaasa archipelago in a special way?
There are companies in the archipelago that offer boat trips and excursions for pre-booked groups. Perhaps you could organise your own trip, for example to some lighthouses or other maritime attractions, or why not arrange your own excursion to a deserted island in the Kvarken archipelago?

The municipality of Korsholm is organising a few boat trips to the Valsörarna Islands and Norrskär this summer.

Scheduled Cruises in the Vaasa Inner Archipelago 20.6.-30.8.2026
Cruises in the Vaasa archipelago with m/s Tiira between June 20th and August 30th in the summer of 2026.
During the cruise there is a 1 h 15 min stop on the Island of Kuusisaari, where it is possible to enjoy a meal in Restaurant Janne’s Saloon. Check out the schedule here!
M/S Tiira and M/S Tuulia can be Chartered for cruses according to your wishes. Short cruises can be made in the Vaasa inner archipelago or longer cruises e.g. to Mikkelinsaaret. Read more and book a cruise for your group.
Boat Tours to the Mickelsörarna Islands 28.6 - 26.7.2026
Boat Tours to the Mickelsörarna Islands from Maxmo
This summer you can take a boat tour aboard M/S Filifjonkan to the Mickelsörana Islands from the end of June until the end of July. The boat passes through shallow straits and open sea – an experience in and of itself and a perfect day trip for nature and sea lovers.
Traditional salmon soup, coffee and home-baked pastries are for sale at Kummelskär and those looking for a swim can take a dip in the sea.
NOTE!
A guided tour is organized on July 1 where you can learn more about the nature and the history of the area.
Schedule
The boat departures either from Stråkaviken on Österö or Abborgrund on Västerö according to this schedule:
- Stråkaviken, Österö: June 28–July 5 and July 13–26
- Abborrgrund, Västerö, July 6–12
Departure at 10:00 (from Stråkaviken or Abborrgrund).
In Kummelskär from 12:45 to 14:15.
Return trip at 14:15, arrival at approximately 17:00.
Price starting from 65 €/person. Maximum 12 persons/trip. Weather reservation.

Boat trips to Valsörarna and Norrskär
This summer, the municipality of Korsholm is organizing three day trips to Valsörarna and Norrskär.

Valsörarna Islands June 23rd
The boat trip departs from Svedjehamn at 10 a.m. We will return to Svedjehamn around 4–5 p.m. We will hike the nature trail (2.5 km) from Storskär (the lighthouse) to Ebbskär (former coast guard station). Participants will be treated to hot sausages. Please bring your own picnic; barbecue facilities are available. You can also take a dip.
Norrskär June 30th and July 2nd
The boat trip departs from Klobbskat fishing harbor in Söderudden at 10 a.m. We’ll return to Klobbskat around 4–5 p.m. We’ll travel in two groups on large fishing boats.
Bring your own picnic; if there’s no forest fire warning, you can barbecue. Participants will be treated to hot dogs. You can also take a dip. Dress for the weather (expect it to always be cold and windy on the lake).
