Projects supporting employment

In the Vaasa region, a strong focus is placed on the development of services and a sense of community. There are plenty of different ongoing projects. Here are some of the ongoing employment promotion projects in our region.

Work ability support project

In Vaasa, the project “Supporting the work capacity of partially disabled people and a model for supported employment in Vaasa” will be implemented during 2021-2022. The project is part of the national work ability programme implemented by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health together with the Ministry of Employment and the Economy in 2019-2023. The primary target group of the project is unemployed people of working age with partial work ability.

Welcome Steps

The aim of the Welcome Steps project is to promote the integration and settlement of immigrants within Vaasa’s cooperation network and to develop the digital accessibility and effectiveness of the Welcome Office’s low-threshold guidance and counselling services.

Vaasan Setlementi’s URA-services

Vaasan Setlementti´s URA-services is an employment project funded by Pohjanmaan TE-toimisto and the city of Vaasa. We help long-term unemployed job seekers find work try-outs and wage subsidy work places.

Jobb Point is a project that aims to find skilled labour for companies in Ostrobothnia. Through the project, you as a jobseeker can get help in finding a job. We can also help you if you want to change your career.

Youth workshop Varikko

The Varikko workshop is for young people aged 15-28 from Vaasa who need support in managing their lives or planning their future.

Workshop Spurtti is for you if you are a young person or young adult aged 15-29 who is not in education, training or working life and you need specific support before moving on to studies, working life or other services.
