Hobbybook

Would you like to start a new hobby? The Hobbybook gathers leisure activities for young people in Vaasa – read and get inspired!

In Vaasa, there are many different opportunities for hobbies and leisure activities. We want to encourage young people to try out new hobbies, and that’s why we organize hobby trials and clubs based on the wishes of young people whenever possible. You can join alone or with a friend – our hobby trials and clubs are always free of charge. Check out our current hobby trials on the “Current Events” page.

Dancing

While dancing you get to enjoy music and exercise at the same time. There are a wide variety of dance genres and you will surely find the one that suits you. Dancing also increases self-confidence, mobility and mental well-being. Remember that you don’t have to be rhythmic and flexible in order to be able to practice dancing. Feel the rhythm and get to know new people at the same time.

  • Danceschool Kipinä, many different dance groups for young people of all kinds of ages! Here’s a tip: go to the “Ajankohtaista”-page and see if Kipinä has an open-doors event coming up or if they have other free of charge trials! (no complete homepage fully in english yet) 
  • Alma, you’ll find multiple, cheap courses in dance in Vaasa and it’s nearby towns/communities 
  • Tanssiurheiluseura Rolling, mm. Breakdance, Zumba and stage dancing  (no page in English)    
  • Tanssistudio Mia, mm. Burlesque, a dancer’s body care and Dance Choreo. You can also book a room for your own private classes (no page in English) 
  • Wasa Vertical, this place is for you if you want to try, for example, pole dancing! (no page in English)
