There are four open daycare centres in Vaasa, which offer both open daycare and clubs.
The activities in the open daycare centres are intended for all Vaasa children under school age as well as for their parents and carers. The activities are free of charge and you can participate in the open activities without prior notification.
Open early childhood education is a planned and targeted activity based on an early childhood education curriculum. We want to support families in raising children, give the families the opportunity to get to know each other, and provide children with playgroups and a wide range of activities.
Club activities at the open daycare centres
- Open daycare clubs are for children from Vaasa who are not in municipal early childhood education.
- The clubs are free of charge.
- The clubs are intended for children aged 3-5 years old.
- The clubs are organised two times a week, 3-4 hours at a time.
The club is a good option for children who are cared for at home but need regular group activities. The parent’s homecare allowance will not be affected if the child participates in an open daycare club.
A child can attend one of the clubs that meet twice a week. A service agreement and an early childhood education plan are made for each child when they start.
Children and families who are included in the open early childhood education service also have the opportunity, if necessary, to receive early childhood education support in matters relating to the child’s upbringing and development.
Applying to join a club
Applications for the open daycare clubs are usually made from March to April each year. The applications are valid until the end of May. You can also start at the club in the middle of a term if there are free places available. Applications can also be submitted throughout the year.
The club is primarily applied for electronically. Fill in an application for an open daycare club here. and send it to email@example.com
A form can also be picked up from the open daycare centre or Early Childhood Education Administration (Raastuvankatu 29, open Mon-Fri 9 am – 3 pm). The form should be returned to the open daycare centre that the club application is being made for.
A decision will be sent to those who have received a place at a club during the month of April.
Open daycare centres operate according to preschool activity times. See the opening hours of each daycare on their individual web pages.
