Open Early Childhood Education
There is one open daycare centre in Vaasa, which offer both open daycare and club.
The activities in the open daycare centre are intended for all Vaasa children under school age as well as for their parents and carers. The activities are free of charge and you can participate in the open activities without prior notification.
Open early childhood education is a planned and targeted activity based on an early childhood education curriculum. We want to support families in raising children, give the families the opportunity to get to know each other, and provide children with playgroups and a wide range of activities.
Club activities at the open daycare centre
- Open daycare club is for children from Vaasa who are not in municipal early childhood education.
- The club is free of charge.
- The club is intended for children aged 3-5 years old.
- The club is organised two times a week, 3-4 hours at a time (during the period 2022 – 2023 the club is organised two times a week and 3 hours at a time).
The club is a good option for children who are cared for at home but need regular group activities. The parent’s homecare allowance will not be affected if the child participates in an open daycare club.
An early childhood education plan is made for each child when they start.
Children and families who are included in the open early childhood education service also have the opportunity, if necessary, to receive early childhood education support in matters relating to the child’s upbringing and development.
Applying to join a club
Applications for the period 2022 – 2023 should be submitted between 25th April – 6th May 2022.
A decision will be sent in May to those who have received a place at a club.
Applications can also be submitted throughout the year. A child can also start at the club in the middle of a term if there are free places available.
The applications are valid until the end of May. The period for 2021 – 2022 is between 17th August 2021 and 31st May 2022. The period for 2022 – 2023 begins 16th August 2022.
