Instrument carousel course

The instrument carousel course is mainly intended as a continuation course for 7-9 year-old students.

The students go to rhythm lessons and learn about three different instruments during the school year. Students are taught an instrument for five weeks, after which the instrument is changed.

Registration and application times

The instrument carousel course is mainly intended as a continuation course for 7-9 year-old students from the music playschool or music preparation groups.

Towards the end of the spring, we will send out separate instructions on registration for those who are already our students. New students can register in April through the Kuula-opisto’s Wilma registration form. A maximum of 18 students are admitted to the instrument carousel group. Those selected for the group are informed about the teaching by e-mail.

Objectives and teaching content

There are three instruments included, which will be decided after the spring registration and application period expires. Up to 18 children can be accommodated. Children are admitted in the order of registration.

Musical instruments will be borrowed from the Kuula-opisto during the tuition, and the rental fee is included in the tuition fee.

Before Christmas, students put the instruments in a wish list and they are divided into musical instruments based on the wishes.

In the spring season, they play one instrument. Rhythm classes continue during the spring.

Teaching times

During the school year, the students take a 30-minute / week rhythm lesson and a 30-minute / week instrument lesson. The student thus has a total of 60 minutes of teaching once a week.

Rhythm and instrument group lessons are consecutive Thursdays from 16.30 to 17.35.
